     Sanganeri block printing techniques originated from Sanganer, a village in the southern part of Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is famous for block printings, handmade paper industry and for Jain Temples.  Families working there now will be 40 yrs or more their parents or relatives help them to learn about block printing process or techniques Delicate patterns and lines with vibrant colored designs are the defining factors for this kind of printing technique..  the textile printing or process are 5 Centuries old and till now it has been continued.... there are many different villages with their unique block printing in Jaipur, Rajasthan like Bagru, Akola, Barmer, Jodhpur are famous block printing. 

Origin and History 
         Rana Sanga established it in the 16th Century and it grew to become an engaged printing art center in India and it has completed 300 years. on a special occasion, their clothes are sent to Sanganeri block printings with the new design. its has renown during the British reign when Sir George watt has written in 1992" as per art and skill or technique the Sanganer as termed as a Capital of block printing. the unique art of printing is done by a community chhipa until today they pass this technique from one generation to the another.

What colors are used and how colors are made?
  • Yellow from turmeric and buttermilk.
  • Green from banana leaves.
  • Black from Iron rust. 
  • Blue from Indigo plant.
  • red from Sugarcane and sunflower. 
  • Purple from Kirmiz insect.
                                                                                      
Why only block printing?
     Block printings are natural and handmade. the colors are handmade and natural like from vegetables, flowers, etc and blocks are made from wood and engraved for printings. Its don't harm environments, health, etc... has it is natural the water while printing or washing cloth they don't get polluted. No chemical liquid is used for this procedure.
