Elements of design 

Elements mean ingredients or factors that are mainly used or important to use in designing. It is the first assignments of every portfolio in fashion designing which includes lines, shape, form, color and texture.

The elements of design :- 

               LINE

               SHAPE

               FORM 

               SPACE

               TEXTURE

               VALUE

               COLOUR

LINE

The line is more essential elements of design. It always has more length than thickness. It has both a position and a direction in space. So, points create a line, lines create shape, etc.

SHAPE

shapes are flat they are also mainly used in fashion designing to different shape garment for different shape body. shapes are triangle, square, oval, etc. they use in designing, illustration, draping, etc.

                                       

FORM

Forms role in fashion designing is that forming a garment according to the shape of the body. it means shapes are flat than form is 3D i.e forming a garment  

SHAPE

SPACE

A two or three-dimensional element in fashion designing.

first space is positive space that design is to be made.

second space is negative space which is background or empty space. 

TEXTURE

texture is an element of design that defines the surface of shapes and forms. texture is an obvious and important element in all we see and touch. everything has some types of texture. it has two different parts 1. physical and 2. visual.

1. physical texture- 

          physical texture means the texture that you can touch and feel.     

 2. visual texture-

                    the visual texture is that you can only see can't feel

COLOR

Hue is the name of the pure color such as red, blue and yellow. color is another extremely important and powerful element in fashion designing. color is complex with both emotionally, psychologically and physically. 

Value

value is another word for lightness and darkness. It occurs in every design. just by placing an element on a page, value is created. value can be used for emphasis. 

In lighting - when you add white to a hue you make a tint.

In darkness- when you add a black to a hue you make a shade.
